Project Life is going strong through out the summer.
I can't help but love taking photos in the summer...so much fun. From running through the sprinklers, snuggling with Indy, 4th of July, BBQs, camping, and wine tasting. I love it all. I added in a 6x8 page with our camping map and a baseball card page for instax photos.
Happy Monday, friends.

Project Life has been off the hook this year. Seriously. Its been something that I love doing each week. Something that I enjoy documenting and looking at. An ongoing passion.
5 Things That Has Made PL Work
1. An awesome Core Kit. Seafoam was a game changer. Not only was it designed by my favorite blogger but its modern. My biggest hang up from last year was using one of the older core kits. Blek. The cards were just boring. This year I have mixed in the Seafoam kit with my own pre-cut cards.
2. Staying up to date. Its no fun to be documenting August in December.
3. Canon Selphy CP900. Wow. This little printer has made a a world of difference. Its small and prints gorgeous photos. From the convenience of my home. Total win.
4. KP's Project Kit (+ a few others). While Seafoam is an amazing way to start Project Life, I need more than just the same designs. I need variety in my year. There are multiple scrapbooking kit clubs that offer PL project kits. KP's has been lovely...lots of fun cards, alpha stickers, washi tape, badges, ect. It adds the perfect variety to my pages!
5. TwoPeas videos. Umm...yes, I love a good old inspirational video. I love watching Amy's PL videos and how she incorporates memorabilia. PL is getting more and more popular, I love seeing other crafter's take on it. Like Kinsey's organization. Or Jenny's mini PL album. So fun to see the endless creations of others.
There it is. The reasons Project Life has been so wonderful this year. Want to know more about PL? Check this out.

I have officially started documenting our wine adventures from this year. I've collected a ton of photos, brochures, maps, and receipts from our trips. Sonoma, Napa, Temecula, Santa Ynez, Lodi, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara/Los Olivos. We've tasted a whole lot of amazing California wine in 2013.
My year of wine idea started after our Sonoma and Napa trip in January. We love wine. The scenery is gorgeous. The people are fun. Its just the 3 of us (Jon, Steph, Indy!) right now...we are going to enjoy this precious time before Baby Harmon takes center stage. Plus, we live in California which rivals France for wine production and (in my opinion) taste.
So here we are. All the pieces to documenting our year of wine. I've started to notice a unique trend in how I start putting projects together. It may not be efficient, but it seems to help me organize my thoughts and ideas.
1. I organize pictures and tidbits. For this project I am organizing by winery location. Putting pictures in some sort of order. Throwing some out and reprinting if needed. Going through countless wine magazines and brochures to see what pieces to use.
2. My favorite part, picking out patterned paper and embellishments. By far this is the most fun step. I love looking through my paper and picking out color schemes. For this project, I started with a few pieces of the Studio Calico Atlantic collection. I like the triangles and softer colors. Of course, I have crap ton of paper to chose from after that.
3. And the odd step I've recently acquired and love...I put the pictures and tidbits in the page protectors. No paper or embellishments. Just figuring out picture placement and order. After this step, I go back to the beginning and add paper. And than I go back to the beginning and add embellishments. Than titles. And last journaling.
There you have it. The crazy inner craft workings of my brain. And the start of my little project which will document 0ur year of wine tasting.

A few weeks ago I posted about the Studio Calico Happy Little Moments class...this class rocked. Like in every way possible. Its been super inspiring for this and other projects.
It documents our Sunday. A normal weekend day for the 3 of us.
The album is literally a book. With story pages that are paper thin. It required some minor calculations and figuring out how many pages were going to stay in my book.
The pages are filled with watercolors, acrylic paint, and embellishments. Lots of labels. And washi tape holds the grouping of pages together.
I have loved this project. And I love documenting an average day for us.

Several weeks ago I had enough. Had to organize my crafting area. Along the way, I found KP's Christmas kit that I ordered eons ago. Whoops. As I went through the kit, I found photos. And tidbits from the holiday season. It was a clear indication that Christmas needed to be documented. In June. Not ideal, but it is what it is.
I love Christmas, so naturally I have a ton of fun papers and embellishments for my favorite season. I started with a Studio Calico handbook. I adore the fun page protectors and being able to add in pockets, envelope, gold vellum pages, and receipts.
Just looking through our Christmas photos warms my heart. I love the parties, decorating, and family time. And the photos of baby Indy...oh man, he had been ours for just a month or so. What a cutie pie.
And I loved adding in vellum envelopes for extra photos.
So happy that Christmas 2012 has been documented.

I had the great pleasure of taking another class with my fav Amy Tan at Paper Tales in San Diego. Always helps me get my creative mojo back. Plus, who doesn't love to chat + shop.
Love, love, love these girls.
Check Miss Amy's adorable baby bump.
Is this instax Hello Kitty film not the cutest thing ever. Awesome.
Had so much fun creating this cute little happy journal. I even stitched! Only for Amy Tan will this girl stitch!

Oh, my gosh. I have been inspired by a scrapbooking class. Why is this important? Well, its important because I typically sign up for online classes and never complete them. Either the content doesn't interest me or I am distracted. Not this time, friends. I am in love. Happy Little Moments #2 has been just amazing
My interest sparked when I saw Marcy's Penner's bad ass class kit. Yes, bad ass...I said it. Look at that herringbone washi tape. To. Die. For.
I'm not typically a fan of altered books. This was literally a book. And I had to take pages out, doesn't that seem taboo? I loved every single minute of it.
Check out these printables, part of the class. Totally unexpected and I am obsessed. I used every single one in my book. No joke. And I'll be printing out a few additional sets for Project Life. Amaz-balls.
Here is one page completed. Instead of documenting happy little moments, I did a day in the life. I documented our day (last Sunday) and everything that happened from our morning routines, to errands, to a BBQ with the family. Lots of fun to remember the details of a normal weekend day.
Can't wait to finish this project up. More details coming soon.
xoxo.

Hello, friends! Project Life update for you-
Its crazy how much I still love this project. And keep up with it (somewhat) regularly. Making big strides from last year and the year before. I'll be blogging about what has been so different this year for me.
Its been a few fun and busy weeks. Turning 27. Cycling for Jon. Snuggles for Indy. A few BBQs. Multiple trips to Lowes. New plants. Work stuff. Lots of life...and I love that its captured in photos.
xoxo.
