I am back on a reading streak. Finished Gone Girl and started This Ones Mine. And my brother demanded I read Unbroken...I've heard this book is amazing so it works out well.
What are you reading this summer? Oh, how I love a good read.
xoxo.

One of my July goals was to try brussells sprouts. I was super excited to try something new. Especially a new veggie.
These guys were tossed in a little olive oil, fresh minced garlic, salt and pepper. I baked the brussels for about 30 minutes at 425 degrees...just enough to give them a nice brown cooked look.
And than, we sat down to eat. Jon loved them. I did not. I rarely like vegetables so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I've officially tried brussells sprouts...been there, done that now.

Project Life is going strong through out the summer.
I can't help but love taking photos in the summer...so much fun. From running through the sprinklers, snuggling with Indy, 4th of July, BBQs, camping, and wine tasting. I love it all. I added in a 6x8 page with our camping map and a baseball card page for instax photos.
Happy Monday, friends.

Project Life has been off the hook this year. Seriously. Its been something that I love doing each week. Something that I enjoy documenting and looking at. An ongoing passion.
5 Things That Has Made PL Work
1. An awesome Core Kit. Seafoam was a game changer. Not only was it designed by my favorite blogger but its modern. My biggest hang up from last year was using one of the older core kits. Blek. The cards were just boring. This year I have mixed in the Seafoam kit with my own pre-cut cards.
2. Staying up to date. Its no fun to be documenting August in December.
3. Canon Selphy CP900. Wow. This little printer has made a a world of difference. Its small and prints gorgeous photos. From the convenience of my home. Total win.
4. KP's Project Kit (+ a few others). While Seafoam is an amazing way to start Project Life, I need more than just the same designs. I need variety in my year. There are multiple scrapbooking kit clubs that offer PL project kits. KP's has been lovely...lots of fun cards, alpha stickers, washi tape, badges, ect. It adds the perfect variety to my pages!
5. TwoPeas videos. Umm...yes, I love a good old inspirational video. I love watching Amy's PL videos and how she incorporates memorabilia. PL is getting more and more popular, I love seeing other crafter's take on it. Like Kinsey's organization. Or Jenny's mini PL album. So fun to see the endless creations of others.
There it is. The reasons Project Life has been so wonderful this year. Want to know more about PL? Check this out.

I have officially started documenting our wine adventures from this year. I've collected a ton of photos, brochures, maps, and receipts from our trips. Sonoma, Napa, Temecula, Santa Ynez, Lodi, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara/Los Olivos. We've tasted a whole lot of amazing California wine in 2013.
My year of wine idea started after our Sonoma and Napa trip in January. We love wine. The scenery is gorgeous. The people are fun. Its just the 3 of us (Jon, Steph, Indy!) right now...we are going to enjoy this precious time before Baby Harmon takes center stage. Plus, we live in California which rivals France for wine production and (in my opinion) taste.
So here we are. All the pieces to documenting our year of wine. I've started to notice a unique trend in how I start putting projects together. It may not be efficient, but it seems to help me organize my thoughts and ideas.
1. I organize pictures and tidbits. For this project I am organizing by winery location. Putting pictures in some sort of order. Throwing some out and reprinting if needed. Going through countless wine magazines and brochures to see what pieces to use.
2. My favorite part, picking out patterned paper and embellishments. By far this is the most fun step. I love looking through my paper and picking out color schemes. For this project, I started with a few pieces of the Studio Calico Atlantic collection. I like the triangles and softer colors. Of course, I have crap ton of paper to chose from after that.
3. And the odd step I've recently acquired and love...I put the pictures and tidbits in the page protectors. No paper or embellishments. Just figuring out picture placement and order. After this step, I go back to the beginning and add paper. And than I go back to the beginning and add embellishments. Than titles. And last journaling.
There you have it. The crazy inner craft workings of my brain. And the start of my little project which will document 0ur year of wine tasting.

Yes, the picture above is correct. A bright table cloth, lanterns, flashlights, and matches...we are going camping! A little camping and wine tasting. I haven't camped in several years so this should be very interesting.
Summer time is the perfect time to get out and spend the night under the stars while roasting marshmallows. Enjoy your holiday weekend, friends!
