Chewy (our orange tree) is growing by the minute. It honestly amazes me.
Check this out. A white bud from last week has bloomed into a flower. A pretty flower. A good smelling flower.
Chewy not only has more and more white buds, but there are new leaves. I swear the plant is getting taller too. I love watching and documenting this growth.
xoxo.

I posted some closet inspiration last week. I am storing blankets, quilts, and pillows in the guest bedroom closet. I was pretty lucky that there were some built in shelves. Even with the storage, its hard to keep blankets folded and stacked nicely.
The before photo. No joke, this is how it looked. Quilts falling off the shelves. Pillow cases all over. What a nightmare.
I picked up a few baskets at Big Lots and Target. I wanted some fresh color. Without spending too much. Wahh-laa. The bottom shelf holds all of our large quilts in a clear container. The container keeps the quilts more stacked. Second shelf is smaller quilts and an afghan. Next shelf (flower basket) contains multiple sets of sheets and fitted sheets. The top shelf is a smaller white basket which holds pillow cases. Its not only more organized but so much easier to find what you are looking for.
Another March goal can be marked off the list. Just in time too.

I promised a house update. And here it is. Without going into too much crazy detail about our awful house buying experience, just know that it sucked. Its worth it all now since we love our home.
I fell in love with the door. Always dreamed of having a painted front door.
A must have on our list was a fireplace. Why does one need a fireplace in California? Christmas time. And for the mantle. Yep, that is probably it.
We loved the large balcony overlooking a small park and the pool. The

I sure love being up to date with Project Life. Its made this week so much more pleasant to document. I could really focus on the small details and journaling versus having to play catch up.
Last week we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with family. We enjoyed the first day of Spring. Indy knocked over the trashcan and ate food he was not supposed to. We started doing our yoga. We took a long walk. Enjoyed happy hour. I spent a day crafting with the girls.
And...a big thank you to my lovely friend Jenn K for planning such a fun crop day! It was for a very good cause with my favorite crafty friends. And I even managed to win Disneyland tickets.

I hadn't planned on doing a garden update so soon. But guess what, an update is in order! Now its very possible that I am getting excited over very little. This is my very first growing experience. Growing being the key word. I've had a few tiny plants that Jon had given to me as gifts...all of which did not live for too long. This has been different, so far. And I love watching the progress.
Side note, we've named our orange tree CHEWY. I have no way of explaining how the name came about. Or why I have to name inanimate objects. But our orange tree's name is CHEWY. And don't you forget it!
See those tiny white buds? I see them! More and more each day. I am assuming this is a good sign. I also see lots of happy new shoots. Chewy is positioned in the middle of the balcony, soaking up lots of sunshine all day long. Lucky little, Chewy.
This little white bud has been growing larger each day. It started off round and is quickly becoming oblong. Is it a future orange? Not sure. But I love checking it each day. I swear, Chewy is growing by the minute!
xoxo.

Our linen closet is in need of a makeover. It seems nearly impossible to keep countless quilts, pillows, sheets, and pillow covers organized. Its a complete mess right now. A closet makeover is in the future...project for this weekend, maybe!
Found some lovely Pinterest ideas and tips for getting that linen closet in tip top shape.
Love, love, love these wicker baskets. Especially the deeper baskets...perfect for holding a quilt or two.
Love these fun colors...wicker mixed with blues and oranges. An organized person's dream come true closet. Nice racks on the door too.
While this isn't exactly a linen closet, I am loving those cute chevron baskets. Those are going to be a must.
Now this is a linen closet. Looks filled but organized. Lots of different sized baskets, holding different sized items.
This weekend I will tackle the linen closet and get it organized. Crossing another item off my March to-do list.

Today is the first day of Spring. Which means the beginning of birds singing in the morning, longer days, a few rainy showers, and colorful patches of flowers. While Winter is really my absolute favorite time of the year (and weather), I am welcoming the change.
Hello, Spring. I'm looking forward to enjoying all you have to offer.

I am completely caught up. And it feels oh so good. Finally I can start to really enjoy Project Life instead of always feeling so behind. Victory.
These few documented Indy's intermediate training graduation, Jon's business trip, our garden adventure, a trip to Palm Springs, and more. I am trying to include more of Jon's daily life this year...it's not all about me (or so he thinks!). And trying not to fill up these pages with only Indy's sweet photos. I'm a sucker for those big brown eyes.
xoxo.
