We finally had dinner at Wood Ranch...I know what you are thinking, welcome to 2012. I would agree. We've clearly been living under a rock with out delicious BBQ food!
We joined friends for a much needed happy hour session this week. Pinot Noir and beer to start with, followed by delicious Onion Strings and Garlic Rolls. I'm bananas for both.
Wait, it gets better...they had TURKEY sliders. Yes, TURKEY! I am always envious of people who order sliders (beef/pork), they always look so darn delicious and cute. This is the first time I was able to order sliders and they were delicious turkey. Score.
Jon had a pulled pork sandwich. He loves pulled pork. And guess what, he rarely eats it since I usually won't make it. And he scarfed a side of sweet potato mashed potatoes.
It was a very delicious dinner. We can't wait to visit Wood Ranch again!

Its been a long, long time since I posted about wine on Wednesday. Well, here it goes...another edition of Wine Wednesday!
I was lucky enough to try Trenza Tinto 2007 from the Central Coast of California. Talk about phenomenal wine. It was perfectly balanced with fruit notes and a bit of spice. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah, and Grenache. I'm a fan of all of the above. Pure perfection. It was so nice to spend an afternoon sipping wine at our favorite place. We planned to go for 1 hour and it quickly turned into several hours. That's the good life.
We had to order the cute cheese+crackers+salami platter to snack on. I could easily live on a combination of wine, cheese, and crackers.
You can read about past Wine Wednesday's here.
Cheers, friends!

(Mosiac created by this cool site.)
Saying the Color Run was a "good time" would be putting it lightly. It was awesome. And so fun. My face hurt from smiling. We enjoyed the run with a few friends (Ann+Ryan) who took 100+ photos...the joy of doing something with a fellow scrapbooker!
The day started off overcast at the Great Park, which was filled with Color Runners. Lots of neon, tube socks, tutus, and headbands. Sweet. The run was good, it felt great to be out moving. But in all honesty, it wasn't a timed run or race. So we enjoyed stops to take pictures and soak up color! My favorite station was of course the pink, who doesn't love being sprayed in pretty pink powder?

Currently packing for Jenn's Relay For Life Crop at Timeless Treasures today. Bringing crafty stuff to finish up my Vino mini and getting caught up on Project Life. Looking forward to craftiness+good friend time.
Also watching reruns of Housewives of New Jersey. D-R-A-M-A. Love it.
Sadly, this week my precious iPhone died. Dead in the water. Luckily, I had just transferred all of my photos to an external hard drive. So I am forced to use Jon's old Droid phone until I breakdown and buy a new iPhone. I'm confident the breakdown will occur any day now.
Have a nice Saturday, friends!

I got a good start on my little mini which will be holding our Temecula wine tasting pictures. I took quite a few photos (via iPhone, of course!) and just wanted to make a small+simple mini to document our fun day. I gathered inspiration from the Kelly Purkey class at Paper Tales...I'm still in love with her "Oh, Snap" mini. That concept will work perfectly for this project too.
My mini is 5x5 with photos printed on white cardstock from our HP Printer. I was too lazy to actually have the photos printed someplace. When in doubt, print from home.
The pages are bound with random washi tape. Gosh, this stuff can seriously be used for so much. I started with a turquoise Hambly overlay (lying around in my stash) and Studio Calico paper. I misted the Studio Calico paper and with *VINO masked. Loving this technique. And than I stamped the rest in black. Pass the vino sums up our trip.
Just used random Studio Calico papers and more washi tape.
The other foundation pages are just patterned papers. I'm happy that I got this little mini started, hopefully it will be easy breezy to put together this weekend at my friend's crop. Looking forward to finishing this up and moving on!

A few weeks ago I wrote about my running adventures...and I got several nice responses from friends! Thanks for sharing motivation ideas with me!
Less than 6 days till the Color Run. So excited!
Here's an update-
Lots more shoe adventures. I'm still so thankful for my shoes...while I still have foot pain from being out of shape, I have no knee pain. Thank goodness. I've learned to enjoy cold rainy runs, feeling the rain drops, seeing storm clouds (and even a rainbow!!), and lots of snails. Got to step over those snails.
My new favorite headband from Lululemon. Perfect for not slipping and moving as I'm jogging. And the colors are lovely.
My long lost love...the Vinyasa scarf. I've been coveting this scarf for sooooooo long, it was a happy purchase! There are so many ways to wear it, I'm still studying this video to figure it out. Its so soft. And light. Perfect for a walk, post-run, and traveling.
Something key I've learned is to stretch. And stretch some more. And when I think I've stretched enough, stretch some more. Before and after. Sometimes during. Its made a world of difference.
I've also learned that my muscles take quite a while to warm up. Need to remember to push through any "pain/soreness" and keep going. Usually when I keep going, it goes away and I feel good.
And I'm still trying to take lots and lots of photos to document this journey. So many pretty things to capture.
Loving supportive conversations with friends and family, it really helps more than I could have imagined.
How else do you stay motivated? I need all the help I can get!
