Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner?

I have loved getting ready for the holidays this year. There is something so magical about having your open place to decorate and spend time in. We have loved baking, decorating, wrapping gifts, and sitting by our beautiful Christmas tree.
 
And now...this Christmas is even more memorable, we are engaged. Something I never actually thought would happen. It has been beyond happy for both of us. Thank you for all of the kind wishes.

This is something my grandmother use to make for family and friends. It is a simple, yet sweet nativity scene. My mom passed her's on to me this year and I love looking at it. It reminds me not only of the true meaning of Christmas, but of being little and setting it up at her house. Love it.

Last night Jon and I hosted our very first wine and cheese party. We had it planned for a month...wine and cheese and then a trip to the boat parade. I fell in love with the boat parade last year...it is beyond beautiful. I love the lights, decorations and music. My family was able to see it too, a first for them. Our great friends came too! It was a great night spent together.

We ended it by watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall...hilarious and drinking a lot more wine.

happy engagement day.

Yes...that's right. It started off like a normal Saturday together.  

Jon planned a beautiful day at La Jolla...a spot we visited two years ago for our anniversary. It was one of our first trips together and we had a great time at our cantina and relaxing on the beach. Today was really breezy...but Jon knows how much I love the crisp weather. We strolled along the beach, shopped, stopped for lunch, had yet another peppermint mocha, and went to another favorite memory spot. Wind n Sea is gorgeous with it's sea cliffs and waves. It's our favorite beach in La Jolla and now the most memorable. Jon proposed on the rocks...completely took my breath away.

That is a picture of Jonathon and myself and a new addition. A beautiful engagment ring. No joke! It is something that I have been looking forward to for a very long time. And something very special that Jon has been planning for a long time.

 



I did not even realize what was happening...that moment sure went by fast. I cried. He kissed me and put this gorgeous ring on my finger. I still can not believe that one day soon we will be married to each other forever. He is the one I see myself having children with and growing old. He is my balance...the opposite of me. I am beyond blessed.

I am praying for a life time of happiness together. Thank you friends for letting me share this very important time with you.

less then two weeks.

I must apologize...I have been meaning to post everyday this week...I have definitely been slacking!

So, Christmas is in less then two weeks. I really can not believe that we are already mid December, the season really flies by. I have most of my shopping done. And these babies went out yesterday:

I made good use of my old Christmas paper to make our cards and envelopes. I still love the colors of it.

And I can not stop by drinking peppermint hot chocolate. It is the perfect cold weather treat!

Our tradition of Advent Tea was last weekend. More and more I am beginning to truly appreciate time with my grandmother, mom, and aunts. They have so much to share and are so filled with love and support. I feel blessed to share a whole afternoon laughing with these ladies.

 

We ate such good food...yummy potato soup and this for dessert:

So delicious. Vanilla ice cream + apple pie + cute peppermint stick. And the cider in the picture is amazing, I will post the recipe later. It is loaded with sugar, tang, and red hots! So good to drink on a cold night!!

OMG.

Had to run out and get this CD. And it is really good.
I have watched For The Record several times now.
And I am officially seeing her in concert (for the second time!) April 19th with the cousin. We are the Britney Super Fans.
Can not wait for the concert!
